Gettin’ Revamped: Helping You Become The Best Version Of Yourself

You know that feeling when you leave the salon feeling new, confident, as if you are somehow a more put-together self than you were only an hour before?

It is this exact reason that Celene Dupuis first opened Revamp Salon here in Saskatoon back in twenty-fourteen. Located in the trendy Broadway district of Saskatoon, the stylists at revamp enable women to find their individual style and to stay current with popular styles.

“We all have a feeling of who we want to be”, says Celene, “—but for many of us we struggle bringing those feelings of confidence and self-love to the outside.  We feel like getting a new style is like giving yourself a "revamp" and we want to help our salon guests feel like they are not only looking beautiful but have had a total revamp from the inside too!”

If you’re anything like me, I don’t trust my hair to just anybody—and neither do we here at SFDF. Revamp will be doing hair for the Sunday shows and we can’t think of anyone better to do so! As a global educator for Redken, Celene has spent over a decade travelling and teaching stylists across North America.

SO excited to see what the team over at Revamp has dreamed up for our Sunday shows!

Celene, with fall season in full swing really early this year (ugh!) what are some hair care tips as the weather cools off!?

“Be aware of dry hair!  Saskatchewan winters are hard on the tresses.  BIG amounts of moisture are needed to prevent frizz, and breakage!  Moisturizing lines, ad leave in conditioners are a must!  Redken's Allsoft Mega for super severely dry hair will keep it soft, and Redken's Frizz Dismiss Rebel tame leave in smoothing control cream will knock the frizz away bonus - it fights humidity so it's great for your winter holiday!”

Any trends you see for hair this fall/winter season? What should we expect to see on the runway this year!?

“For haircolor as our summer tan fades so does our skin and adjusting your colour to avoid being washed out is a must!  Blondes are moving into Natural Ash shades to "winterize" their blondes.  Ask your stylist for a slightly deeper root to create a more lived in blonde (think GIGI HADID) also rich shades of reds and coppers to match the changing leaves. This warms up the skin and makes the eyes pop! style wise fall winter fashion week showed a "more is more" theme, 90's grunge, accessories, 60's inspired Jackie O blow outs and lots of natural texture.”

As one of the sponsors of this year’s festival, why did revamp choose to get involved with SFDF? Why support the festival?

“Fashion and hair are directly related. Hair is dictated by fashion. Designers show geometric shapes for example, and the hair will mimic that, with strong cuts and Vidal sassoon like detail.  So pairing these two together seems so natural.  We also are a locally owned business and want to support the arts and our amazing local talent who continue to inspire.”
